I think we should study fashion because fashion is a big part of today’s society and culture. There are events like the Met Gala and red carpets are judged by what people wear or who they are wearing. Fashion is important because without fashion people would not have clothes to wear. I specifically wanted to study fashion because fashion always interested me. The idea of organizing and promoting a fashion show is intriguing to me. When I was younger, I watched the show Project Runaway and I always wanted to just go to the store, Mood. My favorite challenge was the unconventional challenge, where the designers made clothes out of things like duct tape or trash bags. I had those coloring books where you draw the clothes on them to create an outfit. I also created my own fashion magazine when I was like nine. After I graduate, I want to have a job coming out of college, maybe a place I already interned at. My job goals are to be a fashion stylist or fashion buyer or working to set up a fashion show, I am still not sure yet. I would want to work in either New York City or Los Angeles. Some companies I would like to work for are places like Seventeen magazine as a fashion stylist or at The RealReal as a fashion buyer going to see if a piece of clothing or accessory is real. My dream is to find a job and place that I love and that I am comfortable in, a place that is home.  I want to make a living for myself, be able to raise a family and get married. I am here at Cazenovia College because it is a small community and it feels like a home away from home. Also, the transition from high school to college was smooth because I come from a small community. I learn better in a smaller classroom and with more one on one with a teacher. I chose fashion because when I came to Cazenovia for an open house, I saw the fashion table and that Caz had their own fashion show. Then I started looking at the required classes and I started to get excited and interested to see what they are about. I want to be in fashion sense I was little, but then started thinking about being a vet or a physician assistant. I never really wanted to be a vet because I didn’t want to do surgery or put an animal down. Fashion was always something I wanted to do, but I was not sure what I wanted to do with it. When I saw all the different options for jobs in the fashion field, I realized that I could do something other than fashion design. Fashion merchandising is like a mix of both get to have the fashion side with the business side.
